Four guides, one score, 2,600+ restaurant pages ranking on Google
Gastro.News is an Austrian food magazine by Culinarius Digital. We turned its restaurant guide into programmatic SEO: one ranking, 2,600+ venue pages and 32 ranked hubs, one per state and Vienna district.

The challenge
Four respected guides rate Austria's restaurants, and they do not agree. Michelin gives stars, Gault&Millau toques, Falstaff forks, A la Carte a scale of its own. Diners do not search by a guide's scale. They search for the best restaurants in 1070 Vienna. The guide needed a page for every venue and every search like that, without an editor writing each one.
Our approach
We treated the guide as a data product. Every guide rating converts to points, the points add up to one Gastro.News Score, and the score sets the order everywhere. From that ranking, templates generate a page per restaurant and a ranked hub per state and district, with titles written for the query and structured data search engines can read.
Nobody searches for a guide. They search for dinner in their district, so we built a page for every district.

Venue pages
Every restaurant gets a page from one template: its rank, its Gastro.News Score, the awards behind it and guest reviews. The title follows how people search: menu, prices, photos and reviews.
